Cooper has been a champ when it comes to getting on a schdule with his naps. We are now taking 2 naps a day. About 2 hours in the mid morning and 2 hours in the late afternoon. The biggest change is we are now taking these naps in our crib. He fought with me for the first couple of days but now it only takes a few minutes and he is out cold. It is good for both of us. He gets his nap and I can get a few things done :)

Day in the life...
Cooper is pretty good about keeping to his schedule but also being flexible for his mommy :)
He is now getting up between 6:30 and 8 everyday. He will go down for a nap around 9:30-10 then get up about 11:30. He goes back down for a nap around 2 or 3 then we are up till bed time. We begin to get ready for bed around 7 and it is lights out no later then 8:30. He likes his schedule and so do we. Every now and then he will get up in the middle of the night but this is no longer a habit :)
Rob and I have been taking him out almost every night we are both home and he LOVES it. We take him down to this spot called the Village of Baytown. It is a bunch of little shops, and places to eat, plus docks that overlook the lake with all of the huge boats. They have live music every night and fireworks on Tuesday. Cooper loves being out in it and really seems to enjoy the music and fireworks. Rob likes to park him on the dock and see how many people stop to look at him...it is funny :)

This is how I roll
Cooper is moving all around and we cannot keep him in one place. I put him on a blanket and 2 seconds later he is across the room. He thinks it is so funny and is loving his new freedom!

Mr. Cooper takes a great fall
We had our first fall the other day ago. Cooper was on the bed in the office and when I went to answer the phone he rolled over 3 times and off the bed he went. He only fell about 2.5 feet but I felt terrible. Called the doctor and she said he should be fine as long as he did not black out. He was back to normal within a minute of the fall and back to rolling around like crazy. No more bed time though :)

Another day in the life of Cooper
Today we got up and decided it was so pretty out we would go to the beach. So we loaded up Coop and headed off. We pulled up and there were green flags flying which means perfect conditions. It was perfect. No waves and the water was beautiful. We got to see some dolphins while we were out there and Cooper did some major swimming with dad.
We had to cut our day short when Cooper decided to roll over off his blanket and head first into the sand. His entire head was covered and though funny Cooper did not like the taste or the feel of sand!

1st visitor to FL
Julie Brown came by for a visit and we went out to lunch with her. It was nice to see a familar face from Indiana! We had a great time and took her down to Baytown after lunch to walk around for a while. We were glad to see her and it just made us miss home a little more :)

Cooper 5 Months
Today Cooper turned 5 months old. Rob and I sat at breakfast this morning and just could not believe how far he has come from that little guy in the NICU to an active 5 month little boy! He is always on the move now and has to be in the middle of everything...I think he gets that from me :) I see so much of Rob in him though! Cooper will just sit back and take in a room or really look at people like he is trying to figure them out! He is totally in love with his dad! Every morning I get a huge smile and arms lifted up for me to pick him up. He is learning to give good hugs and kisses! We are still working on good and bad touches... he likes to pinch and always seems to find the most tender part of your arm, neck, and is pulling hair!
Rob and I are so excited to see what he does this next month as we move into the next stage!

I Love my Dad
Playing with Dad
Dad teaching me to stand
I feel so blessed that Cooper has a father like Rob. They are two peas in a pod. Rob talks to Cooper all the time about everything, and I swear Cooper understands every word. It amazes me the way Cooper will light up when Rob enters the room or the way he watches him from across the room. This is only the beginning of this relationship and I cannot wait to see it evolve.

Cooper saying Hey
I don't know if it is the mommy in me or if he really is understanding and saying hey. I will leave it up to you to decide! I think we have a pretty cool kid :)

Bananas and Rice YUMMY
This is so good
Today Rob brought home a treat for Cooper for bedtime....Bananas! We mixed it with some breastmilk and rice cereal and he loved it. I thought he might be getting ready to eat solids for a while because he has been going for our food and is getting hungry before it is time to eat again. We are going to start him off slow and work our way into it. But he LOVED it tonight :)

I got hair growing
Ok so Cooper has in the last couple of weeks grown some more hair on the top of his head. It looks to be coming in blonde, but it is coming in. I have tried to get a good shot of it but it is really light. I am just happy he will not be bald for the rest of his 1st year on earth. I can spike it a bit and part it to one side. He is becoming a little GQ.
4 B's
Cooper now has a bedtime schedule. About 7:45 we start by giving him a bath. Then read him a book and feed him a bottle then its bedtime. He goes down really fast when we follow the schedule and will sleep really well. He will go down between 8p and 9p and gets up about 4a for a feeding then will go down till about 7:30. We are still working on not having the 4am feeding but for now it is working out well.
This is a picture of him having his bottle and watching Happy Feet! He LOVES to watch movies. He has his slippers on and has just finished his bath.
Nap Time
Cooper has been getting really good at going down for a long nap in the mid morning and in the late afternoon. The ONLY time this does not really work out is when we have him out and about town. Today he passed out on our bed and looked so cute! As you can see he is now sleeping on his belly face down.
