It's A Girl

Today we found out that we are having a girl! She is so healthy and has really long legs! She was being such a little lady by keeping her legs crossed and keeping us from seeing that she was a girl! But the doctor worked hard at it and got a good shot. Our pictures are not as good as they were with Cooper but he was also almost 3 weeks older when we found out! We will see if we can sneak another ultrasound in later to see this little one better :)

I am doing great with a total weight gain of 4lbs! The doctor has given me the thumbs up to continue to work out!

Rob was Mr. Cool like always and said he already knew what he had done! Cooper just wanted to run around the entire ultrasound room :)

We are almost to our half way mark so let the count down begin :)

Standing

In the last couple of weeks Cooper has been getting more and more brave with letting go of things and standing on his own. I had not been able to get a picture or a video because every time I get out the camera Cooper would sit down. Today Rob was playing with Cooper and he was standing long enough for me to get a couple of videos. ENJOY!

Day out golfing

Can I drive?
I'm ready let go!

Rob went out golfing and Cooper and I joined him. Cooper had a great time riding in the cart and watching his dad. He did really well and was even quiet while his dad hit the ball. We were not sure if we were going to be able to keep him out there considering they normally don't allow children under the age of 4 to go out. But with the right permission we were able to get out and had a great time! Rob had fun taking Cooper out to where he hit the ball and talking to him about the next shot. Cooper and I did not stay for the entire 18 holes because he was ready for a nap but we had a good morning out.

Day out with Mom and Dad

Talking away at lunch!
hanging with Miss Destin

Dad and Cooper enjoying the view

28lb fish

Today Rob took a day off so we headed down to the ocean for lunch. While we were walking around we came across a fishing contest they were having. It was amazing to see these huge fish being brought in, guts taken out, then weighed. Some were bigger then Cooper :)

While there we also got to see Miss Destin and had to have a picture taken with her. It was a fun afternoon and nice to see a little bit more of this town we are living in.

Pumpkin Patch Visit

Picking the right pumpkin

Today we went to our local pumpkin patch. It is at a horse ranch that is ran by a family from Indiana. We were shocked when we pulled up and they had their Colt's gear on :)

Cooper had a great time and so did Rob and I. There were horses that we were able to pet and Cooper thought that was great. We then went out and picked out our pumpkins. From there we were able to take a hayride then Cooper got to take a smaller hayride. Because we were from Indiana the family was super nice to us. We got on the hayride for free, Rob got his hot dog for free, and we got 2 pumpkins and 8 gourds for $10.

We are excited to also hear that they will have activities for Christmas. Santa will be coming and they will have reindeers and a fire with smores! So more fun to come :)

8 Months Old

Today Cooper is 8 months old. So much has happen these last couple of months. Cooper is now so active and is not only pulling up on everything but is on the move from one object to the next. He loves going from the couch to the coffee table and back and chair to chair. He thinks he is so big and gets a huge kick out of it. He in the last couple of days has decided to stand on his own for a couple of seconds then sits down. I just know this next month he will be standing longer and trying to take steps.
He is loving food and we are having a good time trying new things every week with him. We have added in Rice Crispies and cut up bananas this week. He LOVES having "big people" food. Rob is still slipping him a thing or two here or there but I have been hearing a lot more of "No you can't eat this" coming from Rob's mouth which makes me happy!

My new favorite thing is in the morning Cooper is standing in his crib and will be reaching for me then I get a HUGE hug from him when I pick him up. That is quickly followed by Da Da Da! I have to take what I can get right? :)

This month Cooper's personality has really come out and he loves being out around people. He is a jibber jabber and there is never a person he will not smile at and talk to. My days of running in and out of the store are LONG gone. The number one thing I hear is that we have a happy baby which is a huge compliment!
We had an unexpected first this month. Rob and I took Coop to the ER because he woke up late one night having a hard time breathing. I think he was really scared by it which made him cry which also made it worse. 4 hours in the ER, a breathing treatment, and some meds later we found out Cooper had Croup which is an old fashion term for an Upper Respiratory Infection. He has been doing better but still is having a few issues at night going down and staying down.

Sleeping has really not been an issue this month. In fact there have been a few days when he will let Rob and I sleep into 7:45am. I never thought I would say that was sleeping in :) Overall Cooper has been a wonderful baby and continues to blow our minds day after day at what he does and what he understands. We are lucky to have people around us that love him and interact with him daily.

15 weeks and new haircut

I am not sure if it is the pregnancy or the fact that Cooper is ALWAYS pulling on my hair that finally made me go today and cut it all off. Whatever it was I went and had about 4 inches cut off in the back. The highlight of my haircut was not the fact that I love my new hair but the fact that Cooper had 3 of the staff around him the entire time. One was filing his toe nails, one was filing his finger nails, and one was feeding him. It was a sight to see and he loved every minute of it.

We are now about 15 1/2 weeks pregnant. I am still feeling good, I guess my body just really likes being pregnant. :) I have only gained about 3lbs which I am very happy about. We go in 2 weeks to find out what we are having and make sure everything is on the up and up. Rob is really praying for a girl :)

My new spots

Cooper is always trying to get into the bathroom right off of the kitchen and get into the shower curtain. It is so funny how he thinks he hides behind it and when I come in he pokes his head out and begins to laugh.
He also is loving being in his pack and play now. He pulls up and looks up then sinks down and looks through the mesh. He thinks that is also a game and just giggles and screams!

Go Blue

Sundays have become Daddy days with Rob and Cooper. Rob gets up and gets Cooper all ready to watch football. We grab lunch and watch the first game at Mitchell's then come home and watch the afternoon and night games. Cooper loves it and so does Rob. Even the staff and guests at Mitchell's on Sunday love seeing Cooper and he never lets them down. He is always very vocal and has been interacting and laughing with them. It amazes me everyday how many people love this kid! We are so blessed.

Babysitter photoshoot

Give me the camera

Yummy frozen peaches

That is so funny

We have a new babysitter. Her name is Jeanie and we all love her. She is wonderful with Cooper and the other night she decided to take some pictures of him that turned out so cute.

She watches him 3-4 times a weeks right now. With Rob's new schedule it might only be for 2 hours each night but it is enough for Cooper to have someone else to play with :)

She has been a total blessing to have around and we are so happy with how Cooper has taken to her.

Sunday Walk

Let me go...I can do it

Cooper loves to stick his feet in the water

Beautiful view of the sun on the water

Rob and I got up this morning and decided to take a walk with Cooper down to the Ocean. It was so peaceful and quiet with no one really up or out yet. The water was so beautiful and Cooper, like always, loved the water!

Rob and I feel so blessed that Cooper lives this close to something so beautiful. It is one of the best parts of living in Florida.

Whats new this week?

Breakfast cereal and yogurt

Cooper went to the doctor this week because he caught a cold while we were in Indiana. The doctor was so amazed at how happy he was even though he was sick. He weighed in at 18lb 5oz and is a little over 26in long. She was very happy with all of the things he was doing and Cooper even put on a show for her by waving, hugging, and giving her a kiss. He also would not stop jabbing while we were there and she was very surprised with how much he was trying to communicate with her! It was really funny to see him try and have a little conversation with her. She would ask a question and he would jab back at her then just sit there and wait for her to respond.

While at the doctor I talked to her about feeding him more because he was getting frustrated with wanting "table food". Her only concern was that he does not have teeth yet so she suggested that we stick to softer food that he could mash up with his jaws. So that night we went onto our trusted site http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/ and got a list of foods that would be safe for an 8 month old. He is now having yogurt in the morning with his cereal. We are having frozen peaches in his net for snacks. And have tried pasta, egg yolk, and small pieces of cheese for dinner. He is loving feeding himself and has not had an issue with ANYTHING, thank goodness! We will still be taking it slow with him but it is nice not to have to fight with him to eat his baby food. Now he has his tray full of finger food and he eats his baby food so well.

We also have a new favorite toy this week...Kitchen Spoons and Spatulas! He loves holding on to them while I am working in the kitchen and they have become great chew toys for him as well! They are keeping him busy which is always a good thing in our world :)

I am ready to go!

Cooper has become little Mr. Independent! He is now walking around the entire coffee table and is moving from the couch to the coffee table without falling. He will let go and s-l-o-w-l-y sit down to the ground when he figures out that he is not holding on to anything. We are still having a few falls here and there but he is getting much better at staying upright.

He is having to be on his feet at all times and will walk with you holding his hands! I think he will be walking before long because he is just not happy with sitting still.

13 weeks 6 days...ok almost 14 weeks :)

13 weeks 6 days

We are almost past the first trimester and things could not be going better. We went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago and everything was looking great. The baby's heartbeat was strong and about 160 bpm. We go again on the 29th of October to find out what we are having.

Family time

It was nice to get back to Indy to see everyone and though it was a quick trip we did get a lot done. We enjoyed staying with my Mom and Robert and had a blast seeing Cooper out in the yard with all the farm animals. We are excited to get back at Christmas to see everyone again and hopefully have a little more time to spend with all of our family and friends.

Are you ready for some football??

Cooper and Rob were playing around in the yard on Sunday when we got back from the game and we were all amazed at what Cooper was doing. On his own he got into the perfect football pose and stayed there. He was just getting ready for when it is time to go pro! Rob thought this was the funniest thing and had to get done with him to pose. It was fun to see Cooper in the grass. At home he really only has sand to play in so we were excited to see how he would do. Like a pro he jumped right in and thought it was great.

Mom and Dad's Day Out

Grandma J and Robert were very nice about watching Cooper on Sunday so Rob and I could head downtown for the Colt's game. We have season tickets but because of the move have yet to see a game this year. We had already sold the tickets but were lucky enough to obtain a pair. We had a blast it was great to be back in Indy and see such a good game! We also ran into some friends and headed out at the beginning of the 4th quarter and went to a local pub to finish up the game. It was a great day out together.

Go Irish

Touching the grass in front of the stadium

Standing on campus for the first time

Game time!

Hanging with Mom and Dad

So excited to be on campus

Go Irish

On the top of Rob's to-do list this weekend was to get Cooper to his first ND game. So we got him packed up and took him up to South Bend for the day. We were able to see all of the Grandma's and Grandpa's while we were up there which was a HUGE plus to the trip. It was such a good day. Perfect football weather with just a tiny chill in the air and the sun came out the minute we hit the campus. Cooper had a blast walking through campus and checking everything out. We were able to see a lot and got out just before the rain began to pour down. It was a great game and we walked away with a victory!

Leaving on a Jet Plane

I'm ready lets take off

Cooper made his first trip back home to Indianapolis this weekend. Rob and I were a little nervous about taking him on his first plane ride but he did awesome! On our first flight to North Carolina he was up the entire time but did not fuss one time! He looked around at everyone and was such a good boy. On our second flight into Indy he fell asleep before we even took off and slept till we had to stand up to leave the plane. He loved looking out the window and getting attention from everyone around us! Our trip back home was just as uneventful. Cooper slept both trips and was not phased by the loud family that was next to us on our trip into Destin. We were so proud that he did so well because we had heard some horror stories from friends about their first plane rides.

Cooling off in Destin

Can you see trouble all over this face???
Water, water, water!! I love it!

I will pull up on anything I can get my hands on

Look Mom one hand

In the last couple of days it has really started to cool off and feel more like fall here in Destin. At night we have been getting down into the 50's and it has not got over 80's all week. It is making life here much nicer. I have been able to drive around town and not have the air on and Cooper and I have gone out at night with long sleeves and pants on :)

Cooper still is loving his walks to the beach and works the entire time we are there to getting into the water. This kid is obsessed with water and swimming...could we have the next Michael Phelps on our hands??? Who knows!
This week has been a little bit of a challenge. Rob has had a couple of really long days and Cooper is getting more and more active which makes for longer days for me :) Cooper is no longer sitting still and we have had to establish a timeout spot in his pack and play for when Cooper gets into areas that he is not suppose to. He is into wires and electronics big time which are not always good for little ones to explore. We are worried about him pulling on a wire and having the iron or a lamp hit him on the head. We work on it more and more each day and I think we are making progress but he is a strong will child...wonder who he gets that from :)

Besides Cooper's new interest in home appliances he is doing awesome at pulling himself up and taking a few steps. He has been getting more brave as the weeks go on and is now holding on with only one hand, which still freaks me out because he is so wobbly! I am sure by Christmas we will have a walker on our hands he is not wasting anytime :)
