November

We had a very mild November here in Destin, FL. We enjoyed a ton of very warm and sunny days and feel blessed that we are still able to get Cooper down to the beach every couple of days! He really enjoys it. He loves to play in the sand and has just began to notice the birds. He will sit and just watch them fly over and land in the water.

Rob has been super busy at work with trying to train 2 new managers so we have been making the most of our time off with each other. Rob has been amazing about getting up with Cooper in the morning and having that Daddy/Cooper time so I can get a few more minutes of sleep :)

Thanksgiving was wonderful and now we are looking forward to the Christmas season and some more of Cooper's first.

Brushing My Teeth

Cooper went to the doctor for his 9 month visit and we were told to begin brushing his teeth. He is doing great with it and does not mind a bit. Our only problem is that he wants to do it himself :)

Doctors visit also went well and he is in great health. He is growing as he should and has stayed consistant in his growth.

Thanksgiving

We have so much to be thankful for this year. A wonderful baby boy who is healthy and so active. The approaching birth of our second child. And a great start to our new life in Florida.

Rob decided he was going to make dinner for his entire staff on Thanksgiving. So he got up at 3am and headed down to the store to begin cooking. By 2pm we were ready for dinner and it was wonderful. We had 48 people eat dinner with us and everyone seemed to have a great time.

We were also able to have Mom and Robert down for the weekend which was a lot of fun. We took them down to the beach and all over town to see all of our favorite spots.

21 Weeks

We are now in our 21st week of pregnancy. I am doing great just feeling so much bigger then this time last year :) They say everything happens faster with the second and boy are they right.

We went for our 4 week check-up last week before Thanksgiving and everything was great. The heartbeat sounded great and healthy and I am measuring right at 21 weeks. My weight gain was just at 7lbs which the doctor was very happy with. I am sure it is more now after our Thanksgiving dinner :)
Overall everything is going well. She is beginning to move around more and I can really feel her at night when I lay down to go to sleep. She moves and kicks for a few minutes then gets calm and lets me sleep. I have been tired but that is due to Cooper getting up at the crack of dawn everyday :)

We hope to have a name picked out soon but just haven't really decided on one yet!

9 months old

Today Cooper turns 9 months old. We are continued to be amazed at what he is learning every day. He loves to clap, wave, and is still a jabber!

This month brought along climbing the stairs, walking with his push toy, and standing all on his own.

We also learned a lot this month about fevers and what they truly mean :) We got our first teeth in and have continued to try new food! He is still totally in love with his father and wants nothing to do with me when Rob is around! Trust me I enjoy the break :)

I feel like "Your Baby Can Read" is really beginning to click with him as he is so excited when it comes on and is beginning to copy the babies on screen! Rob is still waiting for him to say delicious!
Our favorite toys are mom's phone, the remote control and anything with colorful lights! So keep that in mind for Christmas :)

Overall he is a great baby and everyone loves having him down here. He always gets a warm welcome at the gym, store, post office, and bank! Sundays he also has quit a following at lunch :)

I think everyday how much he is like Rob by the way he takes in all situations by studying people!

Blogging for a Cause!

Today is Cooper's 9 month birthday! It takes me back to the day his was born and how he was taken off to the NICU right after birth. We are forever thankful for all that the doctors and nurses did for him in that time period after he was born that saved his life. Because of their quick actions and thinking Cooper recovered quickly and is the healthy and active 9 month old he is today.

Though it was scary to see your little baby hooked up to machines and tubes we took comfort in knowing that the best were taking care of him. Today bloggers are uniting to thank and bring awareness to preemies. Though Cooper was not born before term there are still way too many babies that are. Cooper was surrounded by babies that were born too early and had still not developed completely. We were amazed at the love and support these families also got with their months and months that they had to stay in the hospital.

It is because of organizations like March for Dimes that lives are being saved and families are able to bring their babies home healthy! We are thankful that we were able to be a part of that support and we feel blessed that a NICU was available for us to have access to!

On our way to walking

Last week Cooper got his new push toy and is loving it. He thinks he is such a big boy pushing it around the house. I like it because he is able to get around without holding onto my leg or hands :)

By the looks of it I think we are going to have a walker really soon. In the video he is also clapping and waving which are two skills that he is getting better at. Enjoy :)

Big Boy Seat

Such a big boy sitting in my new car seat with my bottle and cubs koozie!

This week we finally moved Cooper out of his infant car seat into his big boy car seat. He really could have cared less but it is a new stage for me not having the carrier with me at all times. Thankfully he is awesome at sitting in the cart at the store and he loves his strollers. So this makes it a little easier for me to get around with him. The challenge is that he is moving around more so trips into the bank and post office get a little more fun from this point forward!

18 Weeks & Baby Plus

This week we are at 18 weeks. I am still doing really well just showing a little more. The doctor said from this point on we are just working on the baby getting bigger. This is also the week that we start baby plus. We did this with Cooper and we don't want to take a chance of the next baby not being as wonderful as he is :) It is a belt that I wear in the am and pm and it has 16 "lessons" that play for the baby. The theory behind it is that in the womb babies can only understand heartbeats. So it is various speeds of beats that get faster and more complex as you move through. I will do each "lesson" for 9 days then move on to the next until the baby is born. It is suppose to help them breastfeed better, sleep better, and be calmer. We feel that Cooper did great with breastfeeding (no issues) he did awesome sleeping (5 hours a night at 4 weeks) and he is a pretty calm child (most of the time). So we will see how it goes with baby #2 :)

November???

It has been amazing here the last couple of weeks. In fact both Rob and I are in shock that it is now November and the weather is still so wonderful. The other night we took a walk down to the beach and Rob was able to walk out a bit with Cooper. The water is still so warm and calm! There were these huge fish jumping out of the water all around Cooper and Rob! Cooper loves the water and is thrilled everytime we go down to the beach.

Standing, climbing, and moving all around

Ta-da....look at me!

Cooper is loving the fact that he can stand on his own. He is always pulling himself up and letting go. We are amazed but there have been less falls as the days go on. He is also figured out how to climb the stairs. We are still working on getting down but that is a work in progress. He loves being out when I am in the kitchen and has to be on my leg "helping' me get things done.

Fall/Christmas Photos

Sunday our sitter, Jeanie, was nice enough to come over and take our pictures for our Christmas cards this year. The pictures turned out so nice. I got a few where Cooper and Rob were both smiling! We will be ordering our cards soon and sending them out at the end of November. Can't believe we are this close already :)

Halloween 2009

I love dancing
Showing off my moves

This fog machine is pretty cool

Can we get this party started?? I am ready to go!

Just give me whats in the bucket and no one will get hurt

I love Halloween

This web stuff is fun to play with!

Just me and Dad doing our thing!

Yummy a sucker!

Mom and I watching everyone dance!!

This was Cooper's first Halloween and we had a blast. The community church held a trunk and treat as well as a fall festival. I made a pot of chili for the chili contest and cupcakes for the cake walk. Though my chili did not win it was fun to be there and try everyones chili.

We entered Cooper into the costume contest and he won first place. Though there was about 8 kids entered about half were lady bugs so I think that is one of the reasons we won :) Cooper got to go around to all the cars and get mom and dad plenty of candy! It was a great event with pumpkin decorating, jumpy things for the kids, and tons of games for all! If it would have been a tad bit warmer it would have been a blast!

From there we stopped by Flemings and Mitchells and dropped off cookies for everyone! They all thought Cooper was so cute in his little dino outfit.

Rob was able to get off at 6 so we headed down to Baytowne for the night and did some more tick or treating. They had a DJ so Cooper was able to show off some of his new moves!

After that we came home and Cooper was ready for bed! He went down really well and slept the whole night...he just didn't get the memo about day light savings time! Up at 6:30 which was really 5:30! Oh well :)

Enjoy the pictures from our day!!!
