Coop and Caddie...the Journey begins

Cooper did not know what to think at first. He was brought to the hospital about an hour after Caddie was born and things were still a little crazy. He was interested in looking at her but wanted nothing to do with me. I think he was a little scared about all the tubes and wires I was hooked up to.

By his second visit he was wanting to touch her a little bit and wanted to look at her. Now that we have her home he is very interested in her and will go over and hug her and try to rub her. He is doing very well with "good" touches and is being very gently with her. He just likes to lay his head on her then move on to something else. He doesn't really seem to be too phased by it yet. So now only time will tell how they end up dealing with each other! Today they both decided 5:15am was a good time to wake-up. They started to cry at the exact same time :) GREAT!

38 week doctors visit and labor

Trying to get me ready for my epidural

We had our 38th week doctors visit on Wednesday and with my blood pressure still high and my protein levels up the doctor decided to send me over to the hospital to be monitored over night then induced early Thursday morning.

We spent the rest of Wednesday just relaxing and filling out all the paperwork. At 4am they began the induction. Right away my contractions were in a steady pattern, but still wasn't feeling anything. The doctor got to the hospital about 8am and broke my water about 8:30. I began to really feel the contractions right away and they were so close. They began to work at getting me an epidural from the moment they broke my water. Because of my blood pressure issues I had to have so much iv fluid before they could begin so it was a race against the clock. They finished my epidural a little after 9am. I had so much pressure that when the nurse checked me I was already at 10cm. I had gone from 5cm to 10cm in a half hour. They told me not to push and called the doctor back to the hospital. 3 pushes later Cadence was here.

Fun new tricks

Cooper is so independent we sometimes just have to sit back and laugh at what he does. Here are a few videos that show how big he is getting. He will have a lot to teach his sister.

37 Weeks

Had our 37 week doctors visit yesterday. We are measuring at 38 weeks which has slowed down from the 2cm bigger I have been for the last 10 weeks. I was almost 4cm and 75% which shocked the doctor considering I have not really been feeling too many contractions. My blood pressure was the real concern this week 158/93. The doctor is watching me over the weekend and I am having to do a 24 hour urine sample, which will get turned in tomorrow along with another doctors visit. If things do not look better by Monday she will induce on Tuesday. If things don't look too bad we will hold off and see if this little lady will come on her own. If by the 31st she is still not here we have an induction scheduled for that day. So a lot going on and a ton of factors going into it. So we just wait and see what the test show up and hope that all goes well.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Cooper loved St. Patrick's day. Beside him turning 13 months he also got to enjoy his first taste of Rob's St. Patrick's day dinner. Rob cooked a corn beef all night and then added some potatoes and cabbage. Cooper loved it and had a great time sitting and enjoying it with his dad.

Cooper is also staying busy learning new things and growing bigger everyday. He is now able to run which is so much fun keeping up with him. He has learned how to get everything out of the cabinets in the kitchen and make it really fun for me to pick up. He loves music and dancing. He is now enjoying having dinner with Rob and I because he is able to eat everything that we eat. He loves to push the chairs around the house and has now figured out how to move his pack-n-play. I can't wait to move to Orlando and give him a yard to play in.

Spring is here

We are all very excited about it being spring. The weather has been really nice, in the 60's for the last week. We are loving getting outside more and not having to wrap Cooper up. Rob and I are trying to enjoy this period as much as possible with the move and new baby coming up we know life is going to get crazy really soon! I got some pictures of Cooper in one of his new spring outfits the other day enjoying some time outside! Enjoy

36 weeks

Today I woke up at 4am having contractions. They were consistent about every 10-15 minutes. I also had a doctors appointment at 9:45a. The doctor decided to do an internal check in case Rob needed to come back from Orlando early. I am 2cm and 50% which is nothing to worry about but we are moving in the right direction. The baby's head is all the way down and the doctor could feel her when she checked me. I am to rest rest rest and drink plenty of fluid for the next couple days to ensure the baby does not come while Rob is in Orlando. I still think we have a good week to go but we are not going to temp fate :)

I am still measuring 2 cm larger then I am in weeks so I am sure that is helping the process along as well. My blood pressure is still high but considering all the stress we have going on right now the doctor did not seemed too concerned. Lucky for me Rob took Cooper with him to Orlando to find us a place so I have the next 3 days to just relax and take it easy. We go back to the doctor next week for a check up and will see where we are at that point.

March in Destin

With the weather getting so nice we have returned one of our favorite activities which is a walk down to the beach. It has been nice to get down there and let Cooper run around for a while besides him running back and forth in the kitchen. Cooper is loving the bike ride down to the beach and the time in the sand. He is crazy about the birds that are hanging out right now and thinks they are so funny. It is cool to see how much he has grown since we have been living here and how much he loves the beach. That is one thing we are going to miss about living here is how nice it is to just walk over to the beach.

New Bike Seat

Grandma J got Cooper a new bike seat and we finally got it all set up and ready to try out. Cooper loved it and had a blast just riding around with dad!

Just like Dad

Cooper and I went shopping last week to get Rob some new shirts and ties for work. While we were out we found this cute little tie and shirt that we couldn't pass up. He is not too sure about the tie and like to yank on it a bit but I think he looks so cute!
