Caddie 2 Months

Caddie turned 2 months on the 25th and she is doing great. Her doctor's visit went really well. We found out that she is now 10lbs and 6oz and 23in. She is in 5% for her head, 55% for her height, and 20% for her weight. So she is really skinny, tall. with a small head :) The doctor was impressed with how strong she is and she took the shots like a pro. She is smiling so much more now and her fussy times are becoming less and less as she continues to get older. I took her off of the reflux meds considering it was not really making her less fussy and not really taking the gasps away. The doctor told me there is not much more we can do but to wait, this will go away in time... so we wait!

She loves to be held all the time which would be wonderful except we have Cooper running around like a crazy man and that does not allow me the entire day to sit and hold her...plus my house would be a mess if I just sat and held her :)
She has her daddy wrapped around her finger already. He just adores her!!
The funny problem that we are having is that she is in between the newborn and size 1 diapers. The newborn are too small and the size 1 are too big...anyone know of a n.5??

Playing with Dad

Rob always has played with Cooper very rough from the start. Cooper just loves it and has a blast. They roll on the floor, swing around, and just run into things. No wonder I can't get him to sit and just color or read a book for too long. This was just a small video of them playing around.

Our little dancing with the stars winner

Cooper just loves music that he cannot help but to dance when he hears it. I was watching Dancing with the Stars and he was trying to follow what they were doing and dance along with the music. It was just so cute and just showed how much he is taking in and trying to copy! He is our little star!

Cooper 15 months

Cooper is 15 months old now and such a big boy. We went to the doctor for his 15 month check up and he is doing great. He is 31 inches, 25lbs, and his head is 19cm. He is 50% for his height and weight and 75% for his head. She was not worried about the size of his head! He just looks like a little bobble head :) He got 3 shots and did not like them much at all. This is the time when we are to start moving him away from the bottle and move towards the sippy cup more. He is down to only 3 bottles a day and the rest of the time he is drinking from a sippy cup or from a straw. She said he should begin to say more words between now and 18 months and by 2 years he should be able to say 2-3 word sentences. Overall she said he looks great and is doing what he should be doing at this age (driving his mom crazy). He is still all over the place and trying more and more each day to climb on everything. He is still only taking one nap a day but it is usually 2 hours and sometimes if I am lucky he will go for 3 :) He is doing great sleeping through the night going down between 6:30 and 7p and usually gets up between 6:30a and 7:30a. He has such a great personality and is such a showman always dancing, singing, and talking away!

Caddie week 8

We are fastly approaching 2 months with Caddie. She is really starting to show a little bit more of a personality. I am also beginning to see a pattern forming of sleep, eat, and being awake. She is now staying awake more between naps and feedings. She is smiling so much more and is still learning to handle her brother in her face all day long. She is going next week for her 2 month check which will include some shots (poor baby). She does not mind tummy time but is always rolling over to her back in no time flat. We are hearing a few more goo's this week but still not as much as her brother at this age.

Bumbo

What happened I used to be able to sit in this??
Just hanging out!

Trying to touch my brother

We got out the bumbo seat for Caddie this week. She looked so little sitting in it, but did great. I think a few more weeks and she will be doing very well in it. Cooper also had to try and sit in it but as you can see he is just too big to sit in it anymore.

Storytime

Thursdays have become our day to get out and socialize for a little bit. I joined a group in Orlando called Sunshine Moms and they meet almost every day. Though that is a little much for me I have been meeting up with them on Thursdays. We go down to the park and have a nice walk around the lake. This is so much fun for Cooper because of all of the ducks and now there are baby ducks. After the walk we head over to the library for story time. Cooper has become a little entertainer. He likes to stand up and dance and be right up front. I am ready for Caddie to get a little older so she can enjoy it too, but right now Cooper is having a blast. It is also a great day for me to get out of the house and I enjoy being around the other moms.

I love to climb

Cooper has figured out how to climb on EVERYTHING! He is up on the couch, on chairs, and on all of his toys. I finally got a picture of him climbing into his basket! Just so active.

Our little sleepy heads

The last week or so Caddie has been taking longer naps and is napping while Coop is down, which gives me so much more time. Cooper has also had a change with his naps in the last couple of weeks. When he gets up he is so happy and such a jabber jab I just had to get it on video. I have also included a video of Caddie taking her nap, not too exciting but just a chance to see her little face :) Enjoy

Caddie 6 weeks - All Smiles

Caddie just turned 6 weeks and she has been becoming more and more interactive each day. In the last week she has began to smile at Rob and I. That has been such a great first for us to see because her little personality is coming through now. She has also begun to work her little voice a bit more and we hear a few goo's every now and then, though I don't know how she will get a word in with her big brother always talking away.
She is beginning to move like crazy too. We can't keep her on her belly for very long without her rolling over to her back. And she is beginning to try and get back to her belly. She also got herself out of her swaddle last night and made it to the other end of her bed and turned around. She is very strong and loves to hold her head up and look around at everything going on. We think she is just trying to keep up with her big brother.

Mother's Day 2010

Me with the kids!

The chocolate frame with their picture

Chocolate box with chocolates in it

This was a wonderful Mother's Day! Rob was so sweet and had made some yummy chocolate treats for me! We were able to go to church, out to lunch, walk around the outlet malls, and dinner. It was so wonderful having him home to help me all day (which was the best present). We were able to talk to both of our Mothers and to Rob's Grandmothers today.

We also had a sad moment happen as well. My Mom's dog of 8 years was hit by a car and killed today. It was a sad ending to the day but we are thankful that he did not suffer. Albert was such a joy to my Mom and our entire family. It is so true that he became a part of our family and though not a child it was hard on my Mom to lose him.

My new tricks

Cooper has hit a point where all the first are almost over. We have been working on words, body parts, and animal sounds. He can show you his head, belly, knees, and feet (when he feels like it). He knows his duck, lion, and dog sounds. His favorite words are hot and sissy, but he can also say daddy, mommy, and watch. I got a video of him doing/saying a few of these. It is hard to get him on video because like a true 15 month old he only does things when he feels like it. I could following him around all day with the camera and the minute I put it down he decides to do all of the things I wanted to get on video :) So I will keep trying but here are a few :)

Dancing for my sissy

Cooper loves to entertain his sister all day. He is always checking on her and thinks of her as his own personal audience. In this video he was singing and dancing around her and I got it on camera. At the end he is just being his 15 month old self and losing interest in her.

Having fun outside

I took this video of Coop when he was outside "helping" Rob wash the car. He thought it was so much fun to play with the hose! Can't believe how big he is getting and how much fun he is having.

Reflux

Today we found out that Caddie is suffering from reflux. Part of the problem is that she is having a hard time keeping up with the flow of milk which is causing her to have bubbles that work their way out long after she feeds. Another problem is when the bubbles are making their way out it is causing her to gag and gasp for air. It was the gasping for air that really was the signal for Rob and I to call the doctor. We didn't think too much about it for a while because she has been sleeping so well and eating like a pro. The doctor was shocked that she is already sleeping 7 hours a night. So she started her on Zantac and it was almost instant we saw a change. Things we didn't even think were related to her having stomach pains. Every night she is fussy for about 2 hours before she goes to bed. Rob and I didn't think much about it because Cooper had this issue too. The ONLY difference is that Caddie can be calmed down by holding her or feeding her. After the two hours she would go down for the night. Well tonight after giving her the first dose of Zantac she did not fuss a bit. No arching of the back and she didn't even fight me feeding her, which she would do during the 2 hours previously! It is like a whole new baby! She was so calm and relaxed tonight. So now we will see how she sleeps the rest of the night.

Only time will tell if the Zantac really is helping her and how she reacts to it but both Rob and I are thankful that she is not in pain tonight :)

Washing the car

On Rob's day off this week he decided to wash the car. Being the "big helper" that Coop is he had to be right out next to his dad washing the car. He loved the hose and had a blast playing in the water. About half way through the wash Cooper also figured out how to spray the hose right at his dad and the car. This took the challenge up a notch for Rob. Overall Cooper stayed out there with him for about an hour having a blast playing in the water.

He loves his sissy

Cooper is in love with Caddie. In fact I cannot put her down anywhere near him without him coming over and trying to hug or kiss her. He wants to cuddle up to her all the time and with him being so much bigger the poor little thing gets crushed by him. He is being very gentle with her though and NEVER wants to hurt her. He is so sweet with her.
