Caddie Update

I feel like it has been way too long since I did an update on the kids. So here is Caddie's.

Caddie is now 27 months an she is changing so much. She is still in love with all things girl. Bows, jewelry, dolls, and shoes. She loves to play dress up and always has here "baby" close at hand.

She has been talking more and Rob and I work hard to understand all she has to say. She has a temper so when she is mad we mainly get screams with no words. Cooper is good at letting me know what she wants filling in any gaps.

She is doing great with potty training and most days we are only going through 2-3 diapers. We can go all day using the potty with very few accidents. I have begun to push a little harder because I know she can do it. Today at lunch she asked to go an ha a dry pull-up which is a huge step in the right direction.

She loves to color, paint, read, and play with play dough. She can point out most colors and animals and knows all of the animal sounds.

She loves loves loves to read and most times I can fin her curled up with a book just flipping through it.

She is her daddy's baby and will tell you if you try to call her a big girl. She loves to cuddle him and is always in his lap.

She loves to "help" me get ready in the morning and always willing to "help" me around the house.

She is such a sweet little girl that loves everyone.

Cooper plays soccer

With his class at the YMCA Cooper is getting a chance to try all the sports. Soccer has to be his favorite by far. He loved running and kicking the ball and he loved kicking goals.

Happy Birthday Daddy

For Rob's birthday we went up to Orlando for the weekend. We crammed so much into 2 days but had a blast.

We drove up Saturday morning and went to lunch at Mitchell's to see everyone from Rob's old job. From there we checked into the Peabody and hung out all afternoon by the pool with the kids. We were able to see the ducks head back to their room before heading out for a night with friends.

Overall we had a great time and it was fun getting back up to see some good friends.

A box from Grandma and Robert

My mom sent the kids a box, which they get the biggest kick out of.

In the box was an air popper for pop corn and some blowup toys for the pool.

They loved watching the popcorn pop and tore into the warm popcorn! And they got the biggest joy watching their show while sitting in the spaceships. In fact they have become a staple in our day. We have snacks in them, read in them, and some times just lay on them.

Thanks mom for the box it was so nice of you.

Cooper plays basketball

We signed Cooper up for a class at the YMCA that meets on Monday and Wednesdays which introduces him to all sports.

Week 1 Day 1 was basketball. He was a little bummed that it was not soccer but soon got into the group.

He did amazing listening to the coach and wanted nothing from me but to sit on the bench and watch him. In fact one time I walked over to see if he needed to go potty and was told to go back over there because he was learning basketball.

They worked on dribbling, running, and shooting baskets. He had a blast. At the end he was very aware that he needed to work on a few things and informed me that daddy and him would have to practice.

A Day in South Beach

Living so close to Miami Rob has been itching to get down to South Beach. Rob and I have both been to South Beach but not together and NEVER with kids :). It is amazing what you notice when you have little ones with you verses when you are alone and enjoying the nightlife.

With that said I don't think we even knew what we would be getting onto when we decided to go to the beach one Sunday afternoon.

We packed everyone into the car and took the short drive to Miami. We found a parking spot on the main drag by the beach. We were so excited to get in the water. We got everyone out of the car and made our way towards the water.

Now anyone with kids or have had kids know that there are moments when you are just focused on getting from point A to point B and don't notice many things in between the two.

Once we got settled on the beach and had the kids changed into their suits Rob looks at me and says with the straightest face "babe, that chick does not have a top on". I look and sure enough she has it all hanging out for everyone to see.

At first I blushed and got really embarrassed but then I began to look around and there were more topless chicks than not. Thank goodness both kids did not have a clue! So we stayed and enjoyed the water and had a great time.

We will not be heading back to South Beach with the kids again! Check that adventure off the list.

Bubble snake

I found a project for a bubble snake. How could this not be fun?!

Well I took an old bottle, cut off the end, and rubber banded an old rag on the open side! With a concoction of dish soap and water and a few failed attempts we were making bubble snakes!

The hardest part was teaching Cooper to only blow out and not suck in and keeping Caddie out of the soap once it hit the ground!

Overall a fun activity that we will for sure do again.

Swimming

In our new complex we have been blessed with a pool. And I mean blessed. It has been an afternoon activity for the kids and I and has helped keep us cool in the ever escalating heat in South Fl.

Cooper and Caddie love it and with the purchase of their new "suits" I am enjoying this time by the pool even more! They are little fish moving all over the pool and jumping in all by themselves.

Cooper has been working with Rob and I and has the basics down (kicking to the side and staying above the water).

Caddie, bless her little heart, is so tiny that it doesn't take long for her to get cold and want to go to he hot tub.

They both love our time at the pool and it has been used as a bribing tool for just about anything :). I plan to use it as long as I can :).
