Happy New Year

I can't believe this year is already over. So much has happen and we have so much to look forward to in 2010.

2009 was a busy year. We started it off with Cooper being born in February. From there we moved to Destin, FL in May. Found out we were expecting our second child. Moved again in September. In the mix of all of that hit major milestones with Cooper and had a great time hanging out at the beach all summer.

2010 is shaping up to be just as hectic. We just found out we will be opening up the new store in Winter Park, FL (Orlando) in May. Rob reports to his new job on the 23rd of March. Baby girl is due April 7th. And the new Mitchell's will be open for business on the 28th of May! I hope from there life will slow down a bit but who knows with being married to Rob anything is possible.

We have so much to be thankful for this past year. We have a healthy and happy baby boy who just brings so much joy into our life. Rob and I are both healthy and happy. And we have a great family and group of friends to share our life moments with. We are excited to welcome our little lady in 2010 and can't wait to see what she will add to this crazy life of ours. We were so sad to leave Indy this year but have come to know all the locals in Destin and feel blessed they have been so welcoming and loving.

We are not setting any resolutions this year but are praying for continued health and happiness in the new year. We pray that all of family and friends experience the same in 2010. Have a blessed New Year in 2010!

Cooper's new big thing is watching you and doing what you do. He loves to copy Rob and finds it so funny. This video is of him looking at Rob across the room and doing what he sees Rob do....so funny! Enjoy

Playing Catch

Rob and Cooper love to play catch together. Every nightbefore bath time Rob makes sure they get some catch time in. I think we might have a quarterback on our hands! He is looking good :)

This Christmas

"Mary Did You Know"

Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy would one day walk on water?
Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your Baby Boy has come to make you new?
This Child that you delivered will soon deliver you.
Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy will calm the storm with His hand?
Did you know that your Baby Boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little Baby you kissed the face of God?Mary did you know..
The blind will see.The deaf will hear. The dead will live again.
The lame will leap. The dumb will speak The praises of The Lamb.
Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your Baby Boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
The sleeping Child you're holding is the Great, I Am.
This Christmas this song took on new meaning to me. I look at Cooper and I wonder what Mary thought as she held that perfect child in her arms. I think of all of the goals and dreams I have for Cooper and I wonder if she could even fathom what he would do. I look at Cooper and wonder if she looked at him in amazement and disbelief at the great job he had ahead of him. I look at Cooper and I am thankful for that precious gift!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Santa!

We took Cooper to see Santa on Christmas eve. It was a cold raining day so we were glad to find out that Santa had taken shop up in Bass Pro Shop. Cooper had a blast looking at all of the fish while we waited to see Santa. He did such a good job talking to Santa and telling him everything he wanted. We got a few photos to share. Enjoy!

Christmas Eve, Eve

These are so cool
He loves his train

So excited to get his new toys!

Our new tv!

Rob and Santa did some early Christmas shopping this year. Santa brought us a new tv, a wii, and wii fit. Santa brought Cooper a new train to ride on and some really cool connect blocks with a dump truck and school bus to build with. Guess Santa had a busy Christmas ahead of him because he decided to drop everything off at our house on the 23rd. It was fun to get everything set up and see Cooper play with his new toys. He loves the train and is having a blast getting pushed around the house on it! The train also plays a few different songs so Rob and I are getting a kick out watching Cooper dance to them. We still have plenty to open up on Christmas!

Day out with Dad

EVERYTHING goes in the mouth

I got this down!

Rob and Cooper decided to give me a morning to sleep in, which was much needed. Cooper got up at 5:30am and they were out the door by 6:30am. They headed down to the beach then decided to do a little shopping. Rob took the camera and got some great pictures of Cooper down at the beach. We might not have the snow but you can't beat this view!

25 weeks

25 weeks

Went this week for my 25 week visit. These visits are a total of 5 minutes long, which is good with Cooper he can't make it more then that. She measured me and I am right on track and our little girls heartbeat is strong and steady. Cooper could not figure out where the sound of her heartbeat was coming from so the doctor and I got a good laugh out of that one.

Next visit will bring on the glucose screening. That is an hour visit that also has a blood draw, which I hate. Most woman complain about the drink but that is not the part that bothers me, its the needle :)

I am doing well and staying active. I try to work out 2-3 times a week and that is still going well. The baby has been causing me to have a few issues with my nerves in my butt/upper leg. It has been a challenge to walk sometimes and getting Cooper up and down the stairs is a slow process some days. But the doctor said that it is normal for a 2nd time mommy with not a ton of time to just rest. So I have been trying to stretch it out and relieve some of the pain.

The doctor was happy with my weight gain, though it was a little more then I expected. I went a little crazy with the holidays! But she said I was a little under where I should be the last visit so she was happy to see a bit of a spike. I am on track to gain between 23-30lbs which is perfect!

Our little lady has been kicking like crazy and is getting stronger and stronger everyday. Rob can feel her more which is always fun! She is sitting lower then Cooper did so I feel a ton of kicks down low. She is still pretty small so she is able to move around more then she will be able to in the upcoming weeks.

Overall this pregnancy is very similar to mine with Cooper, though I have noticed I am getting fat in new places then I did with Coop :) Guess it is a girl thing! We only have 15 more weeks and a ton going on in that time period.

We will be moving to Orlando in March which brings on its own worries and challenges. There are pluses to this move and having the baby in Orlando. First of all there are more doctors in that area where here there are only 3 that deliver at the hospital. There are only 6 beds at this hospital where there is an entire floor dedicated to mom and baby in Orlando. There is also an NICU in Orlando. We are not expecting anything to go wrong but if it had here we would have had to airlift our little one to Panama City...no fun! So while it will be a new experience I think overall it will be better for us to do it this way. Plus who wants to try and move with a newborn....NOT ME!!

We will keep everyone posted on the progress in the weeks to come!

Early Christmas

Just joking here is your real gift :)
Yeah my CD!!
Rob's shirt

My pack of gum Rob got me for Christmas

Our Christmas tree with all of the gifts under it

Rob and I decided to give each other our first Christmas gift early. I gave Rob his gag gift that I had for him. It is a tee shirt that says "True Love means not having to hold in your farts anymore." He gave me a pack of gum then a few minutes later gave me a CD that I had been wanting, very sneaky.

As you can see by the picture we still have PLENTY to open on Christmas thanks to the Grandmas and Grandpas sending all their gifts down. Cooper is totally spoiled this year!

Christmas Cookies

Helping mommy mix the dough
"Are they done yet?"

This year was very challenging to make cookies. Without a mixer and all of our stuff it was fun coming up with new ways to make sure I got all the cookies made. We decided we wanted to give out cookies to some of the regulars that come into Mitchells. The good thing about Destin is that it is a very small town so we have quickly made friends with a group of locals that hang out with us on Sunday and watch football. They are all amazing and super sweet. We feel blessed to have people here that care for us and for Cooper.

Cooper had to help make these cookies. He was more in my way but he loved every minute of it! It will be fun next year when he will understand things more and be able to help me.

Cooper Walking Even More!

Ok so I think this video is the longest he has walked while I have been holding the camera. I will stop posting about this soon but wanted to get a good video of him. So enjoy :)

Sunday Night Football

Cooper and Rob love to watch football together on Sunday, but Faith Hill is their favorite part of the day. Here is a video of Cooper dancing and clapping along to her singing before Sunday Night Football! ENJOY

Winter?

The last couple of weeks brought on a bit of a chill in the air. We would wake up to temps in the low 40's and only see highs of low to mid 50's. Now this is nothing like what we lived with in Indiana but for little Cooper it is a HUGE change from being able to run around without shoes or socks to have to put on a coat, hat, socks, and shoes. As you can see in the picture he is not always happy to have his hat on, but doesn't he look cute?
Rob and I laugh daily about the weather and can't believe that we are running around most days without a coat on or if we have to we throw on a jacket. Rob about every other day throws out the phrase "Can you believe it is December and it is 50 plus degrees?"
Happy Holidays!

10 months old

What is this?

Can I put it in my mouth?

Hey!

What can I get into??

I love to stand and walk all on my own!

Well they said this first year would fly and boy has it! Here we are at 10 months. Cooper is really becomming a blast. He is interacting and likes to copy what other people do. This month brought on a few more first. We saw Cooper's first steps and also his ability to communicate more with us. He loves to feed himself which has brought on a challenge of finding foods that he can eat on his own. His favorites are peas, cheese, and goldfish crackers. He has to eat what Rob and I eat and will check it out to make sure we are not trying to put one past him.

This month has also brought on a little bit of what the doctor called "stranger danger". Cooper knows that Rob and I are his mom and dad and does not like to be left with anyone else. I had a few days of being pulled out of my workout class because he was not happy I was gone. He still gets totally excited to see his dad and loves his daddy Cooper time every morning.

He has become a total cuddle bug and loves to give hugs and kisses. He has also learned to wave good-bye and to blow kisses which is a huge hit with all the girls at Mitchell's.

This month we also put up the Christmas tree so we have been working on him not touching things that don't belong to him. He is really understanding it and we can stop him about 95% of the time by just telling him not to touch it. So we will continue to work on that this month.

Your Baby Can Read is the video that we show him everyday and he has really taken to it. He now claps along with the song and if in the mood can point to the right flashcard when asked a word.

He is in love with music and loves to dance and clap and sometimes blab along with them. The girls at the daycare get a big kick out his dancing. I can't wait to get him into a music class.

Christmas is right around the corner and we can't wait to see what else this next month will bring.

Cooper Walking More

Cooper has really began to get the hang of this walking thing. I cannot get a good video of him really going to town, but here are a few shorter videos of him taking a few steps. He is also big into opening and closing his dresser drawers so I included a video of that as well. Enjoy ;)

Shhhhh we have a name

Rob and I have been going over list and list of names now for weeks. This has been a very hard decision but we FINALLY agreed on a name that we both liked and that went along with Schelle. Unlike with Cooper we will not be telling anyone the name till she is born in April. We feel like it will be a good thing to keep just between the two of us. So let the countdown to April begin...

Just Some Pictures

Climbing the stairs he thinks he is so big
Helping mom put up the Christmas tree

Having fun feeding myself

Calling Daddy at work

Making my way around the coffee table

Cooper took some cute pictures this week so I decided to post them. Really nothing new going on. He is still working on his walking and feeding himself. He loves the fact that we now allow him to have food on his highchair that he can feed himself with and not just puffs anymore. He is getting so big and funny. Can't wait for everyone to see him in January.

Just being Cooper

Cooper has all kinds of new tricks and this is a video of a few of them! We have to work on getting down the stairs better :)

Cooper's First Steps

For about a week now Cooper has been taking a few steps on his own. It is totally on his time and I have not been able to get him to do it while I had the camera out. Tonight I was able to catch it on video, sorry had the camera turned wrong and I don't know how to flip it. But at least you can see a few of his first steps. I am sure he will be getting more and more brave from this point on and we will have a runner soon :)

Kicking

Today Rob finally got to feel a good kick...in fact a few. I can tell she is getting bigger by how much more movement I am feeling and how much stronger the kicks are getting. Rob was excited to finally get to feel her today! We are getting closer!

Touch Down!!!

Cooper has all these new tricks that Rob just gets a kick out of. One of his newest tricks is putting his arms up when we yell touch down! Cooper gets a huge kick out of us laughing about it. Enjoy the video :)
