Cooper Update

I am amazed daily at what Cooper is able to understand and what he picks up on. He in the last month has really taken some huge steps. His verbal communication is awesome. He now can ask for something by saying please. His favorite thing to point on when we are in the car now are buses. He will get that little finger out and point at each one and say "bus...bus...bus". He can count to three and has to count everything.

He is very independent and does not always like to hold my hand when we go out in the street. He loves to walk into the YMCA and scan his own card then walk down to the daycare and hand it to them. He knows to wash his hands before going in daycare and coming out of daycare. In the last couple of days he has really began to show his independence by making us take him to the potty. He will walk us down the hall and point to the potty while he is trying to take off his own diaper. He likes to get his own snacks out of the pantry as well and will let you know when a snack is not what he wanted.

He is super protective of his sister and has now began to sit by her door when I put her down for naps or to bed and will sit there till he is sure she is asleep. He will then look at us and say "sissy shhhh" and put his little finger up to his lips. He likes to feed her a bottle and give her toys that he would like for her to play with.

He knows when we are getting ready to leave and will go and get his shoes and put them on, sometimes successfully and sometimes not so successfully. He will wave and say "bye bye" till we all walk out the door, though he will never leave the house till we get Caddie in her car seat and he can walk her out.

He is doing so well in his tumble class and almost has a front roll down on his own. His instructor, Kristine, loves him and will get him out of daycare on days she does not have a full class and let him in on the bigger kid classes. He gets a huge kick out of that and is totally worn out after that class.

He knows the path to Rob's work and will point things out to me on the way. He knows when we pass ducks, water, and when we pull up he can't stop saying "dad".

Rob and him are still very close. I was worried with Rob having the opening but Cooper still thinks he walks on water and Rob just thinks Cooper is the best thing ever. Cooper knows just how to get to his heart. Coop wakes up almost daily saying "football" and will run out and point to the TV for Rob to find sports center. They have their daily schedule down and love every minute of their 1-2 hours together. They sing songs along with sprout and the morning show, they tackle, and eat breakfast together.

He is our little helper around the house as well. He loves to throw thing away and when he drops food on the ground he takes it over to the disposal and will throw it away. He likes to get the broom out and is always in the mood to help me sweep. He is great about wiping things up and letting me know when he makes a mess.
He is just becoming such a little kid and day by day is learning so much more.

Just a few fun shots

Helping his sister with her shoes
Got my pads on coach, put me in!
Such a happy girl
He loves to color and draw

Cooper and Caddie are just a mile a minute and now that Caddie is on the move it makes it that much harder to get some shots of the two of them.

Cooper loves helping with his sister and is always giving her toys to play with (to keep her away from his), giving her a bottle to stop her from crying, and is always willing to help put her shoes on. In fact Cooper is a tad obsessed with shoes. He will go and get my shoes and try to put them on me. He is always trying to put his shoes on. And he understands when it is time to go he needs his shoes on.
They are just a joy and always an adventure!

I see you

Cooper is adding all kinds of new words and phrases daily, but I thought this one was the funniest. He likes to hide then pop out and say "I see you". Over and over again we hear this. The best is in the morning he wakes up and runs out to the living room saying it. He is talking more and more and we are shocked at what he picks up and how much he understands. Now if I could just get him to listen and stay off his sister we will be doing great :)

Look what he can get into

Cooper with his ever growing ability to climb has found some new challenges with Caddie's things. He now has learned to climb into her swing and into the pack and play. He has learned the "normal" things to climb on like the chairs in the kitchen and the couches.

Kiddie Olympics

This week we tried out the Jewish Community Center for a class called Kiddie Olympics. Cooper loved playing in the gym and with all the new equipment that he has never seen before. He took the balls over to the hoops and was trying to throw the balls up to the basket. That amazed me as we have never took him to play basketball before, though Rob is convince that he knew what to do from watching the games on TV. Regardless Cooper was having a blast till the fire alarms began to go off and we had to all file out and sit in the back for a while while they checked out the building. I am sure we will go back because Cooper did have a lot of fun with all the other kids.

Having fun with Dad

One of Rob's favorite activities to do with Cooper is to let him play with the hose. Cooper loves it and Rob and I can just sit back and laugh at Cooper trying to figure out how it works. We decided it was time for Caddie to get introduced to this past time. So Rob took her into the lions den that we call Coopers world of water. She held her own and had a blast getting wet and playing in the water with Daddy and Cooper.

Everyone loves bubbles

Cooper loves bubbles so the other day we decided to go camp out on the lawn and have a little bubble fun. Caddie was in awe of them and just giggled and laughed at Cooper. Cooper had a blast and being the big boy he is had to use his new bubble blower himself! They had a blast!

Playdate in the park

Every Wednesday our playgroup meets up at a park and has a themed playdate. This week was ride on toys. Cooper had a blast playing with all the different types and hanging with all the other kids. We had to call it a little early due to the fact that the sunscreen was going into his eyes when he would sweat and they were bothering him. I think a couple of pictures you can see how red his eyes are. But he had a blast and took a great nap when we got home. He loves all of his new friends.

Just some Caddie

Caddie is getting bigger and bigger each day and I cannot believe we almost have a 6 month old on our hands. She is moving all over and is getting a little personality to match. She loves her brother and just laughs at him all day long.

Bye Bye

Cooper has figured out what Bye means. So now anytime a car passes us or a plane goes over us he has to say bye. We were at the park and a plane was going over head so Cooper began his bye bye see ya later and I was able to get it on video.

He will say bye bye when I hang up the phone, when we get done at the store, when we leave friends, or when daddy goes to work.

Our little dancer

Caddie is so cute with her little feet. She always has them pointed and is always looking like she is a dancer. Everyone that sees her comments that she is going to be so graceful and a great dancer. So only time will tell, but she has the pointed toe down pat!

Football season is started!

Rob and Cooper were very excited for football season to start this year. Thursday night he got to stay up to watch the beginning of the NFL season. Saturday he watched the Notre Dame game and even danced and clapped at the end with the band and team. Sunday he held tight for most of the day watching football with his dad. We let him stay up again to watch the beginning of Sunday night football. He is having a blast. I hope you can see these videos but they are of him dancing to the beginning of the NFL season and the beginning of Sunday night football.

I had a blow out and all I got was this shirt

I feel like I am always prepared for whatever these two will throw at me. The other day though Caddie threw me for a loop with the blow out of all blow out diapers. I had just got to the Y to work out and dropped the kids off in the daycare. Went on my way to workout and there was a girl from the daycare telling me that Caddie had pooped. I wasn't too concerned till I got to the daycare and saw the other girl holding Caddie with poop all over her arm and shirt. Caddie was covered too. Of coarse I did not have a new outfit because I had just used the reserve one the day before and had not replaced it. I was all ready to go home when one of the girls saved my life by going in the closet and pulling out this little shirt for Caddie. So I was able to change her and head back out for a full workout! Thank gosh for that little shirt! I love my workout hour so it was a lifesaver to still be able to take that hour and not have to go home! I also included a picture of both kids, it is not too often I can get a picture of the two of them together. :)

And she's off!

Caddie has been moving around so much more the last couple of days. Rob and I both agreed that it would not be too much longer till she was crawling. Well the last couple of days has brought on her first form of crawling the "army crawl". It seems to get her around just fine and she is able to get into Cooper's toys without a problem. She is loving her new found freedom! I now can officially say I have 2 on the move. Life is about to get a little more difficult!

Just some Photos

In my never ending attempt to get a photo of the two kids together I got a few that I couldn't pass up posting! Enjoy

Let it begin...

This last Saturday was officially the beginning of the football season with the start of college football. Rob got Cooper his hat out and a football out and they had a blast. Cooper was screaming at the TV along with Rob and he would not take off his hat or put down the football all day. Sunday came along and Cooper brought over his football and hat to Rob, it was a very warm moment!

Cooper gets so excited to see football on TV and even Caddie sat through the entire Notre Dame game with Rob. They were all having such a good time rolling around with the football!

This is getting harder!!!

I remember the days when I could sit with Cooper for 30 minutes and have 30-50 great pictures of him. Then it started to get harder when he was more active. Now it is totally impossible to get either one of them to sit still long enough to get a good picture. Try getting one of them together...well it would be easier to kiss a shark on the mouth without getting bit! Cooper is all over the place and will not sit next to his sister to save my life. When he does he is faced in the opposite direction then she is. Caddie is an active roller and is all over the place. When she is sitting still she is watching Cooper and will not look at me for nothing. I guess what I am trying to say is I worked hard (sweating) for an hour to get these pictures! SO ENJOY :)

Caddie's first time in the pool

Cooper loves his pool and is in it as much as possible. We normally stick Caddie in the bouncy and just let her watch. Well Rob decided it was time to let her try it. She didn't really know what to think at first, but then she loved it. Cooper was not too sure about sharing his pool but he also did well with her. She is still not sitting on her own so Rob just had to hold her in the pool. It was a good way to cool off on such a hot day!
