I am amazed daily at what Cooper is able to understand and what he picks up on. He in the last month has really taken some huge steps. His verbal communication is awesome. He now can ask for something by saying please. His favorite thing to point on when we are in the car now are buses. He will get that little finger out and point at each one and say "bus...bus...bus". He can count to three and has to count everything.
He is very independent and does not always like to hold my hand when we go out in the street. He loves to walk into the YMCA and scan his own card then walk down to the daycare and hand it to them. He knows to wash his hands before going in daycare and coming out of daycare. In the last couple of days he has really began to show his independence by making us take him to the potty. He will walk us down the hall and point to the potty while he is trying to take off his own diaper. He likes to get his own snacks out of the pantry as well and will let you know when a snack is not what he wanted.
He is super protective of his sister and has now began to sit by her door when I put her down for naps or to bed and will sit there till he is sure she is asleep. He will then look at us and say "sissy shhhh" and put his little finger up to his lips. He likes to feed her a bottle and give her toys that he would like for her to play with.
He knows when we are getting ready to leave and will go and get his shoes and put them on, sometimes successfully and sometimes not so successfully. He will wave and say "bye bye" till we all walk out the door, though he will never leave the house till we get Caddie in her car seat and he can walk her out.
He is doing so well in his tumble class and almost has a front roll down on his own. His instructor, Kristine, loves him and will get him out of daycare on days she does not have a full class and let him in on the bigger kid classes. He gets a huge kick out of that and is totally worn out after that class.
He knows the path to Rob's work and will point things out to me on the way. He knows when we pass ducks, water, and when we pull up he can't stop saying "dad".
Rob and him are still very close. I was worried with Rob having the opening but Cooper still thinks he walks on water and Rob just thinks Cooper is the best thing ever. Cooper knows just how to get to his heart. Coop wakes up almost daily saying "football" and will run out and point to the TV for Rob to find sports center. They have their daily schedule down and love every minute of their 1-2 hours together. They sing songs along with sprout and the morning show, they tackle, and eat breakfast together.
He is our little helper around the house as well. He loves to throw thing away and when he drops food on the ground he takes it over to the disposal and will throw it away. He likes to get the broom out and is always in the mood to help me sweep. He is great about wiping things up and letting me know when he makes a mess.
He is just becoming such a little kid and day by day is learning so much more.
