A call from a good friend a week ago sent in motion a spontaneous trip back to Destin, FL. JJ & Courtney were getting married and wanted us to be there for the wedding. No was not an option so after much moving around of schedules we were off for a whirl wind trip to the Panhandle. So Saturday morning we were on the road by 9am and on our way. After a long 6 hour drive we made it to Destin. We had a quick lunch at Mitchell's then it was off to the beach before the wedding at 6pm.
The wedding was beautiful and so personal. A friend of the family let them use his house that was the perfect place to hold this private affair. Tables surrounded the pool out side and the back yard was transformed into a perfect intimate ceremony. We had a wonderful spread of food that was a true southern feast. BBQ pulled Pork was a highlight as well as the homemade 3 tier cake! Perfect was the only words to describe the evening. After a few hours of socializing we all decided to head out for a few hours in Baytown. A great bar with dueling pianos was the perfect end to the day with some great friends.
Rob and I awoke early Sunday morning and headed out to breakfast followed by a final walk along the white sugar beaches of Destin. A farewell drive down 30-A as we headed out of town and back for the 6 hour trip to Orlando.
Hitting a few bad storms along the way home stalled us just a bit, but we were able to make it home by dinner and the good night routine for the kids.
Though a very quick visit it was awesome to see our friends that mean so much to us and watch the beginning of a couples life together. JJ & Courtney we all wish you the best and look forward to watching your family grow.
